Flow of Life

ENG:
“Flow Of Life” has been inspired on the unpredictable movement and power of the ocean. The ocean for me is place of recharging. All life was born in the ocean. The painting is titled “Flow of Life” as it represents the natural movement of how life unfolds, with its surprises, ups and downs, but always moving forward. The bottom part presents the beach of course,  a place to ground.

ESP:
“Flow Of Life” se ha inspirado en el movimiento impredecible y el poder del océano. Para mí, el océano es un lugar de recarga. Toda la vida nació en el océano. La pintura se titula “Flow of Life” ya que representa el movimiento natural. de cómo se desarrolla la vida, con sus sorpresas, altibajos, pero siempre avanzando. La parte de abajo presenta la playa por supuesto, un lugar para aterrizar.

The Endless Summer

ENG:
“The Endless Summer” is a pure work of joy and nostalgia. It refers to these endless summer months in which time does not exist and where daily worries, responsibilities and routine completely vanish for a while.
The contrast between the geometric shapes in typical sunset colors, together with the wild, blue blue unpredictable movements of the sea create a playful field of energy & adventure.

“The Endless Summer” es una obra pura de alegría y nostalgia. Se refiere a esos interminables meses de verano en los que el tiempo no existe y donde las preocupaciones cotidianas, las responsabilidades y la rutina se desvanecen por completo por un tiempo.
El contraste entre las formas geométricas en los colores típicos del atardecer, junto con los movimientos salvajes, azules e impredecibles del mar crean un campo lúdico de energía y aventura

Hidden Realities

ENG:
“Hidden Realities” is a very personal work, referring to the fact that we will never be capable of fully grasping or knowing the one we love. As such, love and life is a dance of predictable and unexpected steps, in all directions, even backwards.

“Hidden Realities” es un trabajo muy personal, que se refiere al hecho de que nunca seremos capaces de comprender o conocer el que amamos. Como tal, el amor y la vida es una danza de pasos predecibles e inesperados, en todas las direcciones, incluso al revés.

New Dimensions

ENG:
New Dimensions is a work referring to “New Beginnings” or a ”New Chapter” in one’s life.  More precisely, this painting was created when a new version of myself was born together with the birth of my daughter, almost 2 years ago now. The 2 connected triangles at the bottom are a metaphor for ‘the couple’, whereas the triangle at the top is “the new beginning” or the new life that we’ve created together.

Apart from my personal story behind the artwork, this painting captures the ups and down of every big life change, the opposite feelings which big life changes can generate.

Standing out against the chaotic background, the geometric shapes bring harmony and peace. It’s a balance I was looking for, both in life as in my painting.

New Dimensions es una obra que se refiere a “Nuevos comienzos” o un “Nuevo capítulo” en la vida.  Más precisamente, esta pintura fue creada cuando nació una nueva versión de mí mismo junto con el nacimiento de mi hija, hace ya casi 2 años. Los 2 triángulos conectados en la parte inferior son una metáfora de “la pareja”, mientras que el triángulo de arriba es “el nuevo comienzo” o la nueva vida que hemos creado juntos.

Aparte de mi historia personal detrás de la obra de arte, esta pintura captura los altibajos de cada gran cambio en la vida, los sentimientos opuestos que pueden generar los grandes cambios en la vida.

Destacando sobre el fondo caótico, las formas geométricas aportan armonía y paz. Es un equilibrio que buscaba, tanto en la vida como en mi pintura.

The Best Is Yet To Come

ENG:
This artwork is about the concept of “waiting” in life; waiting for someone, waiting for something and therefore maybe not living life to its fullest. The last layer of the painting is one with joy and happiness in contrast to rigid geometrical forms and dark, chaotic backgrounds (referring to the other end in the scale of “waiting”). Unlike its title, the painting is a call to live in the moment.

ESP:
Esta obra de arte trata sobre el concepto de “esperar” en la vida; esperando a alguien, esperando algo y por lo tanto tal vez no viviendo la vida al máximo. La última capa de la pintura es de alegría y felicidad en contraste con formas geométricas rígidas y fondos oscuros y caóticos (refiriéndose al otro extremo de la escala de “espera”). A diferencia de su título, la pintura es un llamado a vivir el momento.

Origin

This artwork refers to the origin of life, the ocean, as a place where all life started. Most life on planet earth arises in water. It’s part of my latest series with “Waves”, where the colors of a sunset, movement and contrast are the essence the artwork.

This artwork refers to the current or rhythm of life itself. The wave is a metaphor for the unfolding of one’s life, with ups and downs, but always moving forward.
